ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSIS

To have this test it is necessary:

  • to avoid eating fruit-vegetables-cereals and take two Mylicon wafers after main meals, for two days before the test.
  • to arrive of the day of the test having eaten nothing for at least eight hours.

To have this test it is necessary:

  • to arrive on the day of the test 10 minutes before your appointment, to take care of the necessary paperwork. Remember to bring:
    • the request from your doctor or specialist (not necessary for a check up)
    • your national health card

  • to eat a low fibre diet from the day before the test (you are allowed to eat meat, fish, cheese, yoghurt and dairy products, eggs, bone broth, jam, tea and coffee, but must avoid bread, pasta, fruit, vegetables and pulses, as well as fizzy drinks) and take two vegetable carbon wafers after main meals.

*LOVOL-esse

BOX: the box of LOVOL-esse contains four sachets. Dissolve the contents of each sachet in 500 ml of still water. The total preparation consists of two litres of solution.

PREPARING THE SOLUTION: to prepare the solution, open one of the sachets, pour the contents into 500 ml of still water and stir thoroughly until the powder has completely dissolved (clear solution).

Repeat the same operation with the other sachets.

The solution is more pleasant to drink if chilled after preparation (do not use ice). Do not add any substance (sugar, flavourings, liquids other than water, etc...) to the solution.

Drink from a glass beaker.

DOSE: each litre of preparation (two sachets) must be drunk within the space of about one hour: drink 250 ml of solution quickly at 20-minute intervals, until the first litre of solution has been drunk.

Repeat for the second litre of solution.

Do not eat any solid food from the start of the intestinal cleanse.

You can drink still water, tea or herbal tea (with sugar if preferred) until two hours before the test, unless otherwise indicated by your doctor.

**LOVOL-dyl

BOX: the box of LOVOL-DYL contains 30 tablets.

INTESTINAL PREPARATION
If the test is in the morning:

  • Take three LOVOL-dyl tablets at 3.00-4.00 p.m. the day before the test.
  • Start drinking the LOVOL-esse solution at 7.00-8.00 p.m., following the instructions given above, until you have drunk two litres of solution.

If the test is in the late morning (from 11.00 a.m. onwards):

  • Take three LOVOL-dyl tablets at 10.00 p.m. or before going to bed the night before the test.
  • Start drinking the LOVOL-esse solution from 6.00 a.m. on the day of the test.

To have this test it is necessary:

  • for patients suffering from asthma or allergies (hay fever, dust mites, animal fur, foods or medicines) to contact the Anaesthetist at the CDC, calling 011.5513501-594 for any special instructions
  • not to have eaten for 6 hours
  • to take two vegetable carbon wafers before main meals (lunch and dinner) for two days before the test 
  • To take one of the following drugs (purchased from a chemist) the day before the test:
    • ISOCOLAN: take half the stated dose for emptying the bowel (just four sachets in two litres of water) in the afternoon.
    • X-PREP, two spoonfuls at 5:00 p.m..
Warnings:
  • patients over the age of 70 or in poor health, who use  X-PREP, must take one spoonful at 3:00 p.m. and one at 6:00 p.m.
  • children have to take 1 ml of X-PREP/kilogramme of weight
  • diabetic patients must talk to their GP before following this preparation; diabetic patients using METFORMINA must stop taking it for 48 hours before the test and 24 hours after it
